Hi @RoyBoy82,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are trying to connect your HP ENVY 6055e printer to your PC via USB and then wirelessly, follow these steps:
1. Connect the Printer via USB
- Step 1: Make sure your printer is powered on.
- Step 2: Connect the USB cable from the printer to your PC.
- Step 3: Your PC should automatically detect the printer. If prompted, allow the installation of drivers.
If the printer is not automatically detected:
- Step 4: Download the HP Smart App from HP’s website or the Microsoft Store.
- Step 5: Open the HP Smart app and select Set Up a New Printer.
- Step 6: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup via USB.
2. Install Printer Wirelessly
- Step 1: Open the HP Smart app on your PC (you can also download it from the Microsoft Store).
- Step 2: Click on Add a Printer and select your HP ENVY 6055e printer from the list of available printers.
- Step 3: Follow the prompts to configure the wireless connection.
- If you have a Wi-Fi network, the app will ask for your Wi-Fi credentials to send them to the printer.
- Step 4: Once connected, you can remove the USB cable.
The printer should now be connected to your Wi-Fi network and available wirelessly for printing from your PC.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
