I opened my HP Officejet 8015e to see what replacement ink cartridges to buy. Now it won't print. I am getting a message that I need to complete the setup and have an HP Account. I have both of these.

Hi @Stachbob,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like opening your HP Officejet 8015e may have disrupted the printer's connection or settings. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off your printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • Check if your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • If not, go to the printer's control panel, navigate to the Wireless or Network settings, and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

Check HP Account:

  • Ensure that you are signed in to your HP Account on the printer.
  • Go to the printer's control panel, navigate to the Settings or Setup menu, and look for an option to sign in or log in to your HP Account.

Complete Printer Setup:

  • On your computer, open the HP Smart app or the HP printer software that came with your printer.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup process for your printer.

Check for Updates:

  • Make sure your printer firmware and software are up to date. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP support website.

Reset Printer to Factory Defaults:

  • As a last resort, you can try resetting your printer to factory defaults. Keep in mind that this will erase any custom settings.
  • Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
