Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for explaining the situation. If the Embedded Web Server (EWS) isn’t launching and you need to reset the printer and change its IP address, here’s a structured approach that should help:
Step 1: Factory Reset Without EWS Access
If you can’t access the EWS, you can reset the printer using the control panel:
- Power off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Press and hold the Resume button (the one with the circular arrow).
- While holding the button, reconnect the power cord.
- Continue holding until the Attention or Cancel light turns on and an “nv” message appears on the control panel.
- Release the button. The printer will restart and reset to factory defaults.
Step 2: Change the IP Address
Once the printer is reset, you can assign a new IP address manually:
1. Print a Network Configuration Page:
- Press and hold the Information button until all control panel buttons light up.
- Then press the Information + Wireless buttons together.
- Look for the current IP address on the printed page.
2. Access the EWS (if it becomes available):
- Open a browser and enter the IP address.
- Log in using:
- Username: admin
- Password: PIN from the label inside the cartridge access door
3. Navigate to:
System > Service > Restore Defaults (if not already reset)
Network > IPv4 Configuration to manually assign a new IP
If EWS still doesn’t launch, you can also try setting a static IP via the HP Smart app under Advanced Settings, or use your router’s admin panel to assign a reserved IP based on the printer’s MAC address.
Let me know how far you get with this.
