I used to have wifi, but changed to mobile internet, so don't have access to wifi anymore. The printer doesn't recognize the cable I use to attach it to my laptop (even though I use the one supplied with the printer). NB- I have to attach my mobile and an extra screen to use my laptop, so when i use the printer it has to be connected via an extension cord instead of directly to the mobile.
Every time I turn on my printer I keep having to go through the set-up process, so I'm using my free 1-year ink supply on printing alignment pages, instead of on printing! This is a nightmare- what can I do to change it?

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand you have issues connecting your printer to the mobile hotspot internet.
Mobile hotspot does not have much bandwidth to support printer communication, So it is not recommended to connect your printer using the mobile hotspot.
HP printers using secure Wi-Fi Direct, HP Wireless Direct to print.
-
On the printer control panel, touch the HP wireless direct icon (
), or navigate to the Network Setup or Wireless Settings menu and touch Wireless Direct, and then turn on the connection.
-
To require a password (recommended) when connecting to the printer, select On or On with security. Note the security passcode, and then touch OK.
-
On the mobile device, tap Settings > Wi-Fi, and then select HP-Print-xx-[your printer model name] from the list of available networks.
NOTE: If the printer name does not display, you might be out of range of the HP wireless direct signal. Move your device and printer closer together.

If prompted, type the security passcode from the printer control panel.
-
Open the photo or document that you want to print, and then tap Print from the app menu or the action menu.
NOTE: If the app does not support printing, install the HP ePrint mobile app from the Apple or Google Play store to print.
-
Select your printer model from the list of available printers, and then tap Print.
-
Reconnect the mobile device to your normal wireless network after the print job completes.
