Yes, it is a print server and a printer that has USB or Ethernet can attach to it.
I looked at the documentation for your canon printer and it has both Wi-Fi and Ethernet and supports WPS and WPA2-AES .
Is there a problem with it's Wi-Fi ?
If it is lacking the Wi-Fi option then the print server can be used and documentation for it is here
