I just set up my 2852 deskjet printer and my information light won't go off. It's not flashing, it's constant. It won't let me print anything either. All it tells me when I print the info page is that the printer cannot print. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Speedy2012,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When the information light on your HP DeskJet 2852 printer is constantly on and the printer won't print, it indicates that there is an issue that needs to be resolved. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix the problem:
1. Check for Error Messages:
- Control Panel or App: Look at the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app for any specific error messages or codes that might provide more details about the problem.
2. Check Ink Cartridges:
- Proper Installation: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed. Remove and reinsert them to make sure they are seated correctly.
- Ink Levels: Check the ink levels using the HP Smart app or printer software on your computer. Replace any empty or low ink cartridges.
3. Paper Jam or Paper Issues:
- Clear Paper Jam: Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions. Remove any jammed paper carefully.
- Load Paper Correctly: Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the input tray and that it is not curled or wrinkled.
4. Printer Reset:
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Factory Reset: If a power cycle does not resolve the issue, you can try performing a factory reset. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
5. Check Network Connection:
- Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network properly. You may need to reconnect it by using the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
- Printer Offline: Make sure the printer is not set to offline mode on your computer. Go to "Devices and Printers" on your computer, right-click on your printer, and ensure "Use Printer Offline" is not checked.
6. Firmware and Software Updates:
- Update Firmware: Visit the HP Support Website and check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Download and install any updates.
- Update Software: Ensure you have the latest printer software and drivers installed on your computer.
7. Print a Diagnostic Page:
- Print Diagnostic Page: Use the printer's control panel to print a diagnostic page. This can provide more details about the issue. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to print a diagnostic page.
8. Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Uninstall and Reinstall: Uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and then reinstall them. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.
9. Check for Blocked Vents or Overheating:
- Blocked Vents: Ensure the printer's vents are not blocked and the printer is not overheating. Move the printer to a well-ventilated area if necessary.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
