Hi @jebboggan,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your device is connected to WiFi but shows "No internet connection," it means the WiFi network is available, but there’s an issue with connecting to the internet. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
1. Restart Devices:
- Turn off your device and turn it back on. This can resolve temporary connectivity issues:
- Unplug the power cable from your router/modem.Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Allow the router/modem to fully restart and establish a connection.
2. Check Internet Connection
- Check if other devices connected to the same WiFi network are experiencing the same issue. This can help determine if the problem is with the network or just your device.:
- If possible, connect a device directly to the router with an Ethernet cable to see if it gets internet access. This can help isolate whether the issue is with the WiFi or the internet connection itself.
3. Check Network Settings
- Go to your device’s WiFi settings.
- Find your network, select it, and choose Forget or Remove.
- Reconnect by selecting the network again and entering the password.:
- On your device, ensure it is set to obtain an IP address automatically. This can usually be found under the advanced network settings.
4. Check for Software Updates:
- Ensure your device’s operating system is up to date. Updates often include fixes for network-related issues.
- Check your router’s manufacturer website for any available firmware updates and follow the instructions to update.
5. Reset Network Settings
- On Windows:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Click on Network reset and follow the instructions to reset network settings.
- On Android:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Reset WiFi, mobile & Bluetooth.
- Follow the instructions to reset network settings.
- On iOS:
- Go to Settings > General > Reset.
- Select Reset Network Settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
