Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

LaserJet 200 color M251nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The only change that has happened is a windows update and the printer is offline. The printer does go offline a lot. We turn it off and back on. That usually does it. I have tried updating the Firmware, I have factory reset it, I have reconfigured it and I have stood on my head and nothing gets me past this message knowing very well that it is the correct Passphrase. There has no change of router. No change in anything. If I can't fix it by tomorrow, it goes in the trash along with a brand new set of cartridges I haven't even got to use yet,  and I will buy a Canon or a Brother or anything that is not HP. Any ideas?

Update to my post on fixing the Invalid WPA Passphrase. I am happy to say the printer was moved to the trash this morning. That was 2 days longer than I was going to keep it if it could not be fixed. I had tried every single solution offered by this forum and even some by Netgear. This is such a waste of money andI have always been such a fan of HP,  I purchased a Canon printer yesterday and it took all of 2 minutes to install. Sorry about the landfill and that big old black printer. I do have a brand new box of cartriges if anyone wants them. It's a Laserjet 200, I have had them over 30 days from Amazon otherwise I would return them. I'll even pay shipping if anyone wants them. Good ridance.

Hi@byteme2017,

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the  "How to connect the printer to network".

A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding assistance with the printer not connecting to the network and the passphrase not being accepted. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting, and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that.

To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this:

    • Did this happen after a recent software or Windows update?
    • Was there a power outage before this happened?
    • Please provide the exact and complete model# of the printer to assist you better.

For now, try these steps:

  • Uninstall the printer from "programs and features" which can be accessed by doing a right-click on the Windows button (Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)
  • Check in the device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it. (Right click on the Windows button to access device manager)
  • Go to devices and printers, in the control panel and select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.
  • Click on print server properties.
  • You will get a popup, click on the driver's tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there if any.
  • Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.
  • Restart the PC.
  • Once the PC is on the desktop, press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,
  • Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
  • It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files).
  • If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.
  • Ignore the Regedit option if it cannot be done.
  • Restart the PC again.

Then download the latest printer driver from http://hp.care/2syreDe  and install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system and follow the on-screen instructions.

Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.

This should fix the issue.

  • If required please update the printer firmware also by following instructions from this link: http://hp.care/2rHKwDD
  •  and update the firmware from the same link mentioned above to download the HP printer drivers.
  • This should work for you.

For further assistance, please perform all the prescribed steps from this linkhttp://hp.care/2os5k1B (LaserJet Pro 200 Color M251, M276 Printers - Wireless Printer Setup)

  • Now check for issue resolution. If the problem continues, then follow all the relevant steps from this link: http://hp.care/2BHma4B (HP Printers - Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection) to change a USB connection to a wireless connection

.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I already threw it in the trash and bought a new HP. But thanks for getting back to me. I needed a printer ASAP and I got no solutions so in the trash it went. And the new one is awesome. Thanks anyway.
