Hi @TCIM,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet Pro M201dw is not connecting to your new router, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue. Here are some suggestions:
Check Network Settings on the Printer:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Wireless menu or Settings.
- Check if the printer recognizes the new Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure that the security settings (WPA2) and the Wi-Fi password are correctly entered.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
Restart the Router:
- Power cycle your new router by unplugging it, waiting for about 10-15 seconds, and then plugging it back in. Allow the router to fully restart.
Check Router Settings:
- Log in to your router's settings through a web browser (usually by entering the router's IP address in the address bar).
- Verify that the wireless settings, including security type (WPA2), are correctly configured.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your HP LaserJet Pro M201dw on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can address compatibility issues.
Factory Reset the Printer:
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer. Keep in mind that this will reset all settings on the printer, including network settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-

No this did not work. Too many hours spent on trying to fix this. I give up. I will plug it in directly to the router instead. That means I need to relocate the printer. Such a pain. So much for “wifi” functionality. It shouldn’t be this difficult HP!
