My HP printer went offline back in May 2024. I called who i thought was HP support. The support company turned out to be **bleep**, Inc. they said for 199.99 they can fix my printer. and if i paid $500.00 they could remove all viruses and install their protection which guarenteed me 5 years of protection. I paid the $500.00 and low and behold my printer is offline again. They said that I had viruses again and the program they originally installed was now corrupted and they wanted additional money to fix the issue and reinstall their program. I told them no. If anything, at this point I will go to best buy and get a printer cable. to run from the printer to the computer. I asked for my money back since they did not keep up to their end of the agreement by giving me the 5 years protection that I paid for.
Do not give money to **bleep** Inc. in the long run it will cost you more money then what the printer is worth. And, they will not stand by their agreement.

Welcome to the HP English Community --
The name of the company has been bleeped for good reason.
Of course, NO - scam sites such as the one you describe are not associated with HP Support.
I am sorry you lost money to these people.
I would guess you might have let the scoundrels into your computer.
If you did so, consider that everything on the computer, including anything not locked up behind encryption might be compromised. That includes passwords stored in documents, all other documents, pictures of your family, medical records, possibly emails.
Change your passwords.
What else?
The thieves might have installed malware or monitoring software on your computer.
Use security software to deep scan your system - lacking other options and if the rats did not damage it, Windows Defender can scan your system for bugs and vermin.
I will forward your comments to our Moderator team.
Should there be a response, look for a message here before the agent uses other means to contact.
HP will NOT suddenly text you, call you, or pop a message onto your computer screen
