Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello everyone,

I have a friend with a computer that have windows 7 operating system, and he bought a wireless printer.

Model: HP DeskJet 2800 series

During the driver installation it says that the printer features are not supported in windows 7.

He can print but can't scan, and it's even not possible to change the print settings from color print to gray.

The printer is not recognized by windows fax and scan, and I couldn't find any other scan options.

Also I didn't find Microsoft store to download HP smart app.

Is there a workaround through a certain software that will give the option to scan and maybe configure the print settings?

Or if I'll connect the computer to wifi, can I scan through the phone app and send it to the computer?

Hi @LeonidYashiev,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Good question. Well, I have checked and see that, this printer is not compatible with Windows 7 any longer, This printer may go with Windows 8.1 to Windows 11.

However, try and see if this app Scan with HP Scan and Capture (Windows) works for your Windows 7. If not, I am afraid, there are no workarounds.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I'm deeply sorry for the late response, I've had a lot of work and a second job.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to check the suggestions, but when I'll have the time I will check it.

Thank you so much.
