HP OfficeJet 5212 All-in-One Printer

Recently I have upgraded my home WIFI to a TP Link Router. My printer is connected using WIFI. Before upgrading my router all functions of the printer worked fine. Now since I have updated the router I am still able to print with no problems but the scan function does not work. It seems that the printer can't communicate with the network.  Even when I down load any of the HP diagnostic tools they are unable to communicate with the printer and the message gives me the impression it is something through the router. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have already removed and reinstalled HP-Smart and all drivers related to the printer but the same issue still exists. If anyone has experienced this before, some help would be appreciated.

Hi @Rickp22,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you are experiencing issues with scanning after upgrading your TP-Link router, there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Check the scanner connection: Ensure that your scanner is connected to the same network as your computer. You can check this by going to the settings of your scanner and verifying the network connection. If the scanner is not connected to the network, try connecting it again.
  • Restart the scanner and computer: Sometimes, restarting both the scanner and computer can help resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both devices and then turn them back on again after a few minutes.
  • Update the scanner driver: Check if there is a newer version of the scanner driver available. Go to the HP website and search for your scanner model to find the latest driver. Download and install the driver and try scanning again.
  • Check the firewall settings: Make sure that the firewall settings are not blocking the scanner from communicating with the computer. You can temporarily disable the firewall and try scanning again to see if it resolves the issue.
  • Reset the router: If none of the above solutions work, try resetting your TP-Link router to its factory settings. This will erase all the settings and configurations you have made on the router, so make sure to back up any important data before resetting. Once the router is reset, configure it again and try scanning again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
