My HP 9015 printer was working fine on my wireless network. Then I switched internet provider and I get a message: "An ethernet cable has not been detected. Make sure that both ends of cable are inserted correctly". I am not connected through ethernet and it will not give me an option to connect through wifi anymore

@Carmen171, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Wireless Network Issues for HP Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Here are some steps you can follow to resolve your problem connecting your HP 9015 printer to the wireless network:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

Check Wireless Light: Make sure the wireless (802.11) light at the top left of the front panel is turned on. If the blue light is not lit, the wireless capabilities may not have been turned on.

Turn On Wireless Capabilities: To turn on wireless, navigate to the settings on your printer's front panel:

  • Tap the wireless icon.
  • Select Settings > Wireless > On.

Ensure No Ethernet Cable is Connected: Confirm that an Ethernet cable is not connected to the printer, as connecting an Ethernet cable turns off the printer's wireless capabilities.

Restart Network Components: Restart your router and the printer. Turn off the devices, then turn them back on in the following order: router first, then the printer. If you are still unable to connect, turn off the router, printer, and your computer, and then turn the power back on.

Run Wireless Network Test: Print a Wireless Network Test page:

  • Tap the wireless icon on the printer's front panel.
  • Select Settings > Print Wireless Network Test.
  • The test report includes recommendations to solve any detected problems.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
