HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer

HP 8030 keeps dropping wireless connection to Spectrum router.  Called HP and after 40 minutes was told there is an issue with a certain Spectrum Router model she transferred me to a help line that was only available M-F during normal working hours so I will call tomorrow. Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this issue with a Spectrum router. Weird because it worked before, maybe Spectrum changed a setting?

I've been having this issue quite frequently and about to throw this thing in the junk bin and buy a cord-based printer. I write down each time I have an issue with this thing, and I don't particularly like an IT person coming onto my computer remotely to fix it. I work from home, and I'd hate to see that someone was taking stuff off my computer. I bought an HP ENVY 6052e two years ago and lately it's just becoming an issue. I work remote and I have a business. This thing is becoming very undependable.

Hi @Envoy1106,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

I request you to contact Spectrum support once and check.

Meanwhile, you may also perform the steps mentioned below and see how it goes.

OPTION 1 - RUN HP PRINT AND SCAN DOCTOR

  1. Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor application to identify and solve errors. You can find this special version that’s designed to resolve offline issues by clicking this link.
  2. Open the application called HPPSdr.exe by clicking it from the download location and allowing it to run. You may need to be in administrator mode to do this
  3. If you are prompted, choose Yes to trust the file source because it comes directly from the HP tech support team
  4. Click Start and choose your printer
  5. If your printer is not listed, restart your printer, then click Retry in the Print and Scan Doctor application
  6. The application will identify potential connection issues. Follow the prompts and click Yes if asked to turn on printer updates
  7. Continue through the prompts and click Yes if asked to make this printer the default printer

Did these instructions help you? You’ll know it worked if your printer status changed from “offline” to “online.” If not, continue to the next section.

OPTION 2 - SET THE DEFAULT PRINTER

You may need to manually indicate your default printer preference. Follow these steps to resolve this issue for Windows 10. Before you begin, make sure that you have downloaded and installed all of the updates for the Windows 10 operating system.

For Windows 10 users

  1. Use the search box or ask Cortana to open the Devices
  2. Select Printers & scanners
  3. Ensure that the box next to “Let Windows manage my default printer” is unchecked. Click the box to unselect it if necessary
  4. Choose your printer from the list provided
  5. If your printer is listed multiple times, select the version that is showing an idle or online status
  6. Click Manage
  7. Click Set as default
