I recently bought a LaserJet printer and it had been working fine till a few days ago it stopped connecting to web apps. Every time I try to access the web apps it shows " Connection error 500" The printer is unable to connect to the service. Check the internet and try again. I have tried printing the wireless report and it shows nothing wrong. I have even reset it but still shows the same issue.

I do a lot of scans to email so it won't work anymore. I have tried wirelessly printing docs and that seems to work fine but for some reason web apps fails.

Are there any troubleshooting steps I can try to fix this?

Hi @janetusman,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing connectivity issues specifically with accessing web apps on your HP LaserJet printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network and that your internet connection is working fine. You can try connecting another device to the same network to confirm.
  • Update Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve connectivity issues and improve overall performance. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP website.
  • Restart Printer: Try restarting your printer by turning it off, unplugging it from power for a few minutes, and then plugging it back in and turning it on again. This can sometimes reset the printer's network settings and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Reset Network Settings: Perform a network settings reset on your printer. This will clear any existing network configurations and allow you to set up the connection again from scratch. Refer to your printer's user manual or the HP website for instructions on how to do this.
  • Check Firewall Settings: If you have a firewall or security software installed on your network, make sure it's not blocking the printer's access to web services. You may need to adjust the firewall settings to allow the printer to communicate with web apps.
  • Check DNS Settings: Ensure that your printer's DNS settings are configured correctly. You can usually find these settings in the printer's network setup menu. Try using Google's public DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) if you're experiencing DNS resolution issues.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the connectivity issues with accessing web apps on your HP LaserJet printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Aiden,

Thank you for sharing the solution. But it didn't work. It used to work a couple of weeks ago but is no longer working. It is moving between Access Denied and 500 error.
