Seems like it should be a really simple task, reconnect with my printer and change the wifi to a new wifi. Not seemingly so. And let me say, HP support is as helpful as a damp blanket on a computer.
I have tried resetting to factory settings (saw in another thread), did not work
I've found the direct access password and connected that way, which was a success, however, still couldn't change the wifi
I've tried the various reset instructions the support person provided, however, the trouble is I never get the HP Setup wifi connect option again, only the direct.
I have no idea why this simple task has to be so complicated, if someone knows the trick, please let me know! I'll happily do a how to video to pay it forward and hopefully help some poor soul NOT feel the frustration I'm feeling towards this printer.

Hi,
Please ensure there is no USB cable connected to your printer, if there is any such be sure to unplug it from the back of the printer.
Next, follow the below steps to reconfigure your printer using the HP Smart app:
-
Make sure your device is connected to the same wireless network that you want to connect a new printer to.
-
Go to 123.hp.com from a browser on your phone or tablet and install the HP Smart app.
-
Turn on the printer. If the printer is in sleep mode, press the Cancel button on the control panel.
-
Press and hold the Wireless button until the Attention light blinks, release the button then and the printer might restart.
-
Open the HP Smart app.
-
If a printer setup notification displays, tap the notification. Otherwise, tap the Plus sign to add your printer.
-
Tap Set Up a New Printer.
-
Press the Home button, and then connect your Apple device to your printer's wireless network.
-
From the home screen on your Apple device, tap Settings, and then tap Wi-Fi.
-
Tap your printer. The printer name contains 'Setup' and the model number, such as HP-Setup>A8-Deskjet 3700 series.Your Apple device is now on your printer's wireless network.
-
-
Press the Home button, and then tap the HP Smart app.
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to type the WEP or WPA key (network password). If you do not know your network password, go to Find Your Wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 Password.
-
After the printer connects to your wireless network, you can skip the remaining screens to complete the setup.Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.
