Hi @JPBarry,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet Pro M15w printer is showing as "offline," there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. Follow these steps.
Check Printer Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the power source and turned on.
- Confirm that the USB or wireless connection between the printer and your computer/router is secure.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Allow the printer to complete its startup process before checking the status again.
Restart Router:
- Turn off your router, wait for about 10-15 seconds, and then turn it back on. Allow the router to establish a stable connection.
Check Wireless Connection:
- If your printer is connected wirelessly, make sure that the Wi-Fi signal is strong and stable.
- Verify that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers.
Check Printer Status on Computer:
- On your computer, go to the Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac).
- Open the "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & Scanners" section.
- Right-click on your HP LaserJet Pro M15w and check if it is set as the default printer.
Set Printer Online (Windows):
- In the "Devices and Printers" window, right-click on your printer and select "See what's printing."
- If the printer is offline, right-click on it again and choose "Use Printer Online."
Reinstall Printer (Windows):
- In the "Devices and Printers" window, remove the HP LaserJet Pro M15w and then reinstall it.
Printer Software Utility (HP Print and Scan Doctor):
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility from the HP website. This tool can help diagnose and resolve common printing problems.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Ensure there are no paper jams in the printer that might be causing the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
