Installed new modem TP Archer AX55 Pro, wifi SSID the same, though wifi is set up as a mesh. Wireless report says 'wireless' on = pass, Wireless working = pass, Network (SSID) found= Fail, Security = Pass.
Test report says: "Your HP Printer cannot find your wireless router. Check that your wireless router is powered on. Check that the printer's network name (SSID) matches the network name (SSID) of your wireless router. If the names don't match exactly, run the wireless network setup to configure your HP printer." Printer control panel gives you no option to change the SSID name, or search for and choose any other SSID.
MY SSID is not hidden:
1. Tried connecting by WPS - fails to connect.
2. Tried using a USB cable and does not recognise the USB (used same cable & USB port on my HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4535 to set up wifi).
3. Tried wireless set up on the control panel, wifi on, but no! I did notice the wifi SSID on the printer panel says SSID is' HP-Print-31-LaserJet Pro M201dw,
4. Tried HP smart and HP Print & Scan Doctor, neither can find printer.
5. Cycled printer on and off more times than.......
Am at my wits end, desperately need to print stuff.
Any ideas gratefully received.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi @zazahector,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've tried several troubleshooting steps, but let's see if we can go through a few more to help you get your HP LaserJet Pro M201dw and M210dw connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
Verify Network Configuration:
- Ensure that your TP-Link Archer AX55 Pro modem/router is broadcasting on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Many printers, especially older models, only support 2.4 GHz.
- Make sure your SSID (network name) is not hidden.
Printer Reset:
- Perform a factory reset on your printer to clear any previous settings. This often helps with connection issues.
- For HP LaserJet Pro M201dw:
- On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button (or touch the wireless icon) to view the Wireless Status screen.
- Press the Settings icon.
- Navigate to and select "Restore Network Settings" or "Restore Defaults."
- For HP LaserJet Pro M210dw:
- Go to the printer’s control panel.
- Press the Wireless button and navigate to "Network Setup."
- Select "Restore Network Settings" or "Restore Defaults."
Reconnecting to Wi-Fi:
- After the reset, try to reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network using the WPS method again.
- WPS Method:
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Within two minutes, press and hold the Wireless button on your printer for at least 3 seconds or until the wireless light starts blinking.
- Manual Method using HP Smart:
- Make sure your computer is connected to the same network you want your printer to connect to.
- Open the HP Smart app and select the printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add the printer to your network.
Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Sometimes, an outdated firmware version can cause connectivity issues. Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer.
- Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and look for firmware updates.
Network Isolation:
- Ensure that there are no network isolation features enabled on your router, which can prevent devices from communicating with each other.
Recheck the USB Method:
- Make sure you are using a working USB cable and port. Sometimes a faulty cable or port can prevent the setup process.
- Try a different USB port on your computer.
Additional Steps
Check the Router Settings:
- Log into your router’s admin interface and ensure that MAC address filtering is not enabled. If it is, add your printer's MAC address to the allowed list.
- Disable any advanced security features like WPA3 or advanced firewall settings temporarily to see if they are causing issues.
HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Run HP Print and Scan Doctor again, and this time, check if it provides any detailed error messages or suggestions.
Refer to this document: HP LaserJet Pro M201dw User manual
