Are you using a Laserjet M15W printer?

Use WPS to connect the printer to your wireless network.

  1. Locate the WPS button on your router, but do not press it yet.

If your router does not support WPS, skip to the next step to connect the printer with the HP Smart app.

  2. Turn on the printer. If the printer is in sleep mode, press the Cancel button on the control panel.

  3. On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button  for at least 3 seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash.

  4. On the router, press and hold the WPS button for 3 to 5 seconds or until it shows that the WPS connection process has started.

NOTE: The printer stops searching for a WPS connection two minutes after the wireless button is pressed. If you were unable to press the WPS button within that timeframe, attempt these steps again.

Once the printer connects to the wireless network, the blue Wireless light on the control panel turns on solid.

For more info on how to connect the printer to a new wireless network, refer to this document.

Thanks, but I’m not using a usb connection.  When I go through the set up process, I don’t get the wi fi set up option in iOS wifi setting that I should, And as described below in your instructions.

Press the Home button, and then connect your Apple device to your printer's wireless network.
  1. From the home screen on your Apple device, tap Settings, and then tap Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap your printer. The printer name contains 'Setup' and the model number, such as HP-Setup>A8-Deskjet 3700 series.

The set-up option doesn’t appear.  instead I’m stuck with the old wi fi connection for the printer and there is no way to remove or delete the  old connection.  I’ve been through the process set out in your guide dozens of times, and it’s always the same result.  I’m a key covid worker, so this is becoming a real issue for me,  thanks

You need to reset the printer network settings as mentioned in my first post and use the WPS method to connect the printer to the new network.

Have you followed the steps mentioned in my first post?

  • Make sure the printer and the iOS device are connected to the same wireless network.
  • Either 2.4GHz network or the 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.
  • Also, check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'.

Let me know how this goes.
