Hi @KTott09 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw may be experiencing a display issue, but the printer is still functional otherwise. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
- Leave it unplugged for about 30 seconds.
- Plug it back in, then power on the printer to check if the display turns on.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer.
- **Press and hold the # and 6 buttons simultaneously while turning the printer back on.
- Continue holding the buttons until the printer starts to reset (this can take about 10-15 seconds).
- Check if the screen comes back on after the reset.
3. Check for Display Contrast Settings
- Sometimes the display contrast might be set too low, making it appear blank.
- If you can access the printer's menu, check the settings to ensure the display contrast is set to an appropriate level. This might be accessible via the printer's control panel if it's responding.
4. Check for Firmware Issues Update the firmware on an HP printer
- If you are able to access the printer via the web interface (by entering its IP address in a browser), you can check if the firmware is up to date.
- If an update is available, you may want to try updating it through the web interface.
5. Inspect for Hardware Issues
- If the above steps don't work, it's possible there could be a hardware issue with the display screen itself or the internal connections.
