The printer is connected to wifi and set up for network printing. I don't print very often - sometimes a few documents in a day, sometimes one document per week.
I try to print something, and get an error message that the printer is offline. I go look at it, it says it's connected to wifi, the printer thinks everything is Just Fine. I turn it off and back on, and then I can print successfully. Later - sometimes just a few hours later - I try to print another document, and it's offline again.
It used to work for weeks at a time before falling offline, but now it's happening every couple days.
What setting do I need to adjust to make this damnable thing stay connected and work right? (Please don't tell me to throw it out the window and buy a Brother. I know now that that's what I should have done in the first place, but the money is spent and another printer is not in the budget right now

Most common cause is a compatibility issue between current WIFI routers and printers. Often the routers have the latest 5G circuitry but the printers have last generation. While supposedly compatible, the do have issues. Most reliable option is to configure the 2.4Ghz channel of your router with a unique SSID and only allow the printer to connect to that SSID.
