printer frequently loses contact with internet. Usually can reconnect with a cycle of of on off switch. Wireless Network Test Report: Wireless = on; Wireless working = pass; Network Name = fail; Security = pass. Configuration Summary: Network Name = correct name; Communication Mode = Infrastructure; Authentication Type = mix of letters numbers; Encryption = mix of letters and symbols.
Can not get onboard printer screen to take me to check SSID and password. Don't know if that's a problem only included for information.
Have cycled router and printer several times.

Hi @tedburne1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Network Configuration:
- Ensure your printer is set to the correct network name (SSID) and that it is visible on your network device.
- Verify the Communication Mode is set to "Infrastructure" as you indicated.
Verify SSID and Password:
- Sometimes, the SSID and Password fields might be missing if the printer has stored previous configurations. Check if a manual setup might be needed to reset these fields.
Reconfigure Wireless Settings:
- Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering its IP address in a web browser. From here, you can manually configure the wireless settings.
- Re-enter SSID and network password to ensure they are correct.
Firmware Update:
- Ensure the printer has the latest firmware version installed. You can usually download updates from the HP website.
Wireless Channel Settings:
- On your router’s configuration page, try changing the wireless frequency channel to reduce interference. Sometimes channels like 1, 6, or 11 on the 2.4 GHz band are optimal.
Reduce Interference:
- Ensure that there are no obstructions or electromagnetic interference (like microwaves, cordless phones) between the router and the printer.
- The printer should ideally be within range of the wireless router.
Printer Reset:
- You might perform a network reset on the printer. This usually involves navigating through the printer menu and selecting a reset option for network settings.
Network Setup via USB Cable:
- If you're unable to set the wireless configuration manually, try setting up the printer using a USB cable connected to your computer. This can sometimes resolve setup issues and allow the correct SSID and password to be entered.
I hope this helps.
