Microsoft Windows 11

I just bought the Hp Officejet Pro wide 9730e. When trying to set up the Wi-Fi it says to enable location. I did and it keeps saying to enable location. Any tips on what I am doing wrong?

Hi @Rhin,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Device Settings:

  • Ensure that location services are enabled on your smartphone or computer that you're using for the setup.
  • On a smartphone, navigate to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and ensure that location services are turned on.
  • On a computer, check the location settings in the control panel or system preferences.

Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed.
  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings, then Wireless Settings, and check for an option to enable location services.

Restart Devices:

  • Sometimes, simply restarting the printer and your device can help resolve connectivity and configuration issues.

Wi-Fi Network:

  • Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is up and running with internet access.
  • Make sure your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.

HP Software and Apps:

  • Use the HP Smart app for setting up the Wi-Fi connection. This app provides a user-friendly interface for printer setup and troubleshooting. Make sure you've downloaded the latest version of the app.
  • Follow the guided setup process in the HP Smart app which also prompts for enabling necessary settings like location.

I hope this helps.
