Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP 17 Laptop PC 17-c2000 (4V791AV) is experiencing intermittent Wi-Fi connectivity issues, which can be frustrating.
Here are several troubleshooting steps to help resolve the problem:
1. Update Network Drivers

- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Network adapters section.
- Right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
- You can also visit the HP support website to download the latest drivers for your laptop model.
2. Disable Power Saving for Network Adapter
Windows may be turning off your Wi-Fi adapter to save power. Disabling this option might help:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Network adapters section.
- Right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter and select Properties.
- Go to the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
- Click OK.
3. Forget and Reconnect to the Network
Sometimes refreshing your Wi-Fi connection can help:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
- Click on Manage known networks.
- Select your Wi-Fi network and click Forget.
- Reconnect to the network by entering the password.
4. Reset Network Settings
A full network reset might resolve conflicts or misconfigurations:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet.
- Scroll down and select Advanced network settings.
- Choose Network reset and follow the instructions.
5. Change Power Settings (Wi-Fi adapter)
You can adjust the Wi-Fi adapter's power settings to enhance stability:
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
- Click on Change plan settings next to your active plan.
- Click on Change advanced power settings.
- Expand the Wireless Adapter Settings section, then expand Power Saving Mode.
- Set both On battery and Plugged in to Maximum Performance.
6. Check Router Settings
- Ensure your router's firmware is up to date.
- Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi band (e.g., 5 GHz instead of 2.4 GHz, or vice versa) to see if that stabilizes the connection.
7. Check for Windows Updates
- Ensure your Windows 11 is fully up to date. Sometimes, system updates include important fixes for Wi-Fi issues.
8. Run Windows Network Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Scroll down to Network Adapter and click Run.
