I was rudely treated by HP technical staff member, when i was simply wanted to resolve WiFi access problem with my printer.

I am still incredibly disappointed by this experience. And my printer is still off-line.

Hi @NannySP,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience with HP's technical support and the continued issue with your printer's Wi-Fi connection. Let's work on resolving the issue together.

Steps to Reconnect Your HP Printer to Wi-Fi:

Check the Network and Printer Status:

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is active and your router is working properly.
  • Make sure your printer is powered on and within range of the Wi-Fi router.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer, computer, and router.
  • Wait for about 2 minutes and then turn them back on.

Reconfigure Wi-Fi on the Printer:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to the Wireless Settings or Network Settings.
  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard (if available) and follow the steps to reconnect to your network.
  • If your printer does not have a screen, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button simultaneously until the wireless light starts blinking. Then, run the HP Smart app on your device to set it up.

Reinstall the Printer on Your Device:

  • On your computer, remove the printer from the list of devices:
    • Windows: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and click Remove device.
    • Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click the - button.
  • Re-add the printer:
    • Use the HP Smart App (available on Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS) to detect and reconnect your printer.

Factory Reset (if necessary):

  • If the above steps do not work, reset the printer to factory settings:
    • Refer to your printer’s user manual or let me know the model number, and I can provide the exact steps.

Verify Connectivity:

  • Print a Wireless Network Test Report from your printer's control panel to check the connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
