I have a HP M283 cdw printer that is making horrible noises when printing. I have exchanged this printer 3 times for the same issue (thank you Costco for making this an easy process). The printers tend to work fine for a while, and then the noises start. I use HP cartridges and have replaced them, I have removed and re-inserted the cartridges, I have unplugged the printer.. nothing has worked and is working. What is the solution to this issue? This is the 3rd printer, same issue, very frustrating!!!!

Hi @Adolf8,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a persistent issue with your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to address the horrible noise during printing.
Check for Obstructions: Make sure there are no paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer. Open all access panels and carefully inspect the interior.
Inspect the Cartridges: Ensure the toner cartridges are properly seated. Sometimes, a misaligned cartridge can cause noise. Check for any damage or debris around the cartridge area.
Perform a Printer Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Update Printer Firmware: Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. You can do this by visiting the HP Support website, entering your printer model, and checking for updates.
Check Paper Type and Quality: Ensure you are using the correct type of paper as specified in the printer's manual. Low-quality or incorrect paper can cause noise and printing issues.
Run the Printer’s Cleaning Cycle: Some HP printers have a cleaning function that can help with noise issues. Check the printer’s control panel for a cleaning option.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

After receiving the canned reply from HP on what to do and following these steps, my issues still exist. Now I was told there is nothing that can be done and I needed to call yet another number. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this printer, especially if you own a small business. For the time spent trying get a resolution (and exchanging this thing 3 times), you be better off to go with something else that's more reliable.
