HP Envy Photo 7155 printer is not visible to Sonomo 14.4.1.  Both are on same network.  Can print to printer using android & iphone.  Downloaded new drivers to computer.  Have rebooted router, computer & printer multiple times.  Computer is on top of printer; router is 3' away from both.  Mac just doesn't see HP Envy Photo 7155 printer.  Norton FWL has been turned off & still can't see printer.  Any ideas?  Am asking Google fiber about Bonjour packets - MAC & printer worked historically with Google Fiber so "feels" like something sent to MAC....not sure....

Hi @CinderElla8,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already taken several good troubleshooting steps to address the issue of your Mac not being able to locate your HP Envy Photo 7155 printer, despite being on the same network and other devices being able to connect without issue. Here are a few additional steps and considerations that might help resolve the issue:

Check for Software Updates: Ensure that both your Mac and your printer have the latest software updates. For your Mac, go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update. For your printer, check the HP website for any firmware updates.

Reset the Printing System:

  • Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control-click) in the list of printers on the left side, then choose "Reset printing system" from the context menu.
  • Note that this will remove all printers from the list, and you'll have to add them again.

Check IP Address of the Printer:

  • Since other devices can connect, print a network configuration page from the printer to obtain its IP address.
  • On your Mac, go to Printers & Scanners in System Preferences, click the "+" button to add a printer, then select "IP" from the top of the window.
  • Enter the IP address of the printer. This can sometimes bypass issues where the printer is not being discovered automatically.

Disable Any VPN Services: If you're using any VPN services on your Mac, try disabling them. VPNs can sometimes cause issues with local network visibility due to how they route your internet connection.

Check Advanced Printer Settings:

  • Some printers have an option to enable or disable network visibility or a specific protocol that macOS uses for printer discovery (such as Bonjour). Check your printer's web interface (accessible via its IP address from a browser) for any such settings.

Firewall and Security Software: Even though you've turned off Norton, double-check that macOS's built-in firewall or any other security software is not blocking the connection. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall.

Network Configuration: There could be settings on your router that are blocking the communication between your Mac and the printer. Since you've mentioned asking Google Fiber about Bonjour packets, ensure that any settings like AP Isolation are disabled. AP Isolation prevents connected devices from seeing each other on the same network, which could be the root of the issue.

Connect via USB: As a temporary workaround or to further diagnose the issue, try connecting the printer to your Mac via USB. If this works, the issue is likely network-related.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
