My M281cdw gives me the 'Error 79 Service Error Turn Off then On' message and goes into an infinite reboot routine whenever connected to my home network. It will do this even when both PCs connected to the network are turned off. I have done the following:
Cleared all print jobs on both PCs
Unplugged the printer and left it unpowered for an hour
Reset the printer via setup menu on the LCD panel
Rebooted all devices on the network including the router
Turned off wifi on the printer so the only network connection is the ethernet cable
Tried connecting the printer to the network when no other devices except the router are on the network.
Did a firmware update
Tried the not-so-secret NVRAM reset
Switched Ethernet cables
The printer works fine when connected to a PC via USB cable, but will go into the Error 79 continuous reboot mode about 1 minute after having the ethernet cable reconnected *or* when the wifi gets turned back on, even when the only other device on the network is the router. I'd like to really get this back to working on a network, as I would prefer not to have to stop working and let my kid use my PC every time she needs to print something for school.
Anything I might be missing besides sending the printer back to the factory? Thanks in advance for any assistance you might be able to offer.
