Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have an MFP M477fnw that isn't communicating with the network. I've tried cables and everything. Everytime I click on any menu item in the Set Up menu, it asks for a password. I have no idea which password this is - it's not the network password. I'd like to either re-set the admin password or just reset the printer to the factory settings and start from scratch.

Hello,

Hope you are well, if the printer is asking for a password anytime you try to access a menu, it most probably someone set up the printer an admin password and the only way is to get the password or factory reset the machine, it is important to know that if the printer goes factory reset, it will loss every configuration like networking config, scanning configs, etc.

In order to factory reset the printer, turn the device off and then on, as soon as you see the HP logo, press and hold the bottom right corner and hold this area until you see a message for storage init, after that just wait the machine to come back to ready.

if that does not work, please get in touch with support or take the printer to an authorized service center, you may check the warranty status over this link  warranty link and this one for authorized centers
