My HP LaserJet MFP M139E Printer was connected to my Wifi but it will not connect now. I have tried everything I can find online and it is out of warranty so HP online will not help. Do any of you have any idea what I can do?

Hi @StevenDNP
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If your HP LaserJet MFP M139we Printer was previously connected to your Wi-Fi network but is now having connection issues, here are several troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check the Basics
Network Connection: Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is active and functioning properly. Restart your router to refresh the network connection.
Printer Status: Make sure your printer is powered on and ready. Check the display panel for any error messages that might indicate connectivity issues.
Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi
Clear Network Settings: On the printer, clear existing network settings. This can usually be done by accessing the printer's setup menu directly on the device's control panel.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
- Use the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device to set up the wireless network again.
- Ensure you enter the correct Wi-Fi network name and password.
Printer Restart
- Power Cycle the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, and plug it back in. Turn it on and see if it connects to the Wi-Fi.
Update Drivers and Firmware
- HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart app to update your printer’s firmware, which can resolve connectivity issues.
- Drivers: Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer on your Windows 11 computer.
Check Router Settings
Network Band: If your router supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, make sure the printer is connected to the 2.4 GHz band, as many printers do not support the 5 GHz band.
MAC Address Filtering: Ensure MAC address filtering is not blocking your printer. Add your printer’s MAC address to the allowed list if needed.
Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool
- In the HP Smart app, click Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
- Let it run a scan—it will automatically fix common connection issues.
You can also access this tool on HP’s support page if needed.
Factory Reset
- As a last resort, perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on how to do this. Keep in mind that this will reset all settings back to default.
These steps should help in troubleshooting the connectivity issue with your printer.
