MY HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier All-in-One Printer - A909n WON'T SCAN
03-22-2021 03:48 PM

I HAVE UNINSTALLED AND RE-INSTALLED SOFTWARE & DRIVERS. I CAN PRINT BUT CAN NOT SCAN. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING I KNOW. I AM RETIRED FROM OWNING TWO COMPUTER STORES. I HAVE RAN THE "PRINT AND SCAN DOCTOR" BUT THAT DIDN'T HELP. IT SAYS DRIVER IS NOT INSTALLED.

@DonSr1952, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand you are able to print but not scan. Here are two compatible scanning apps, which can be used to scan your photo or document:
HP Scan Extended: You can Download-Save-Install > HP Scan Extended
- If the link above does not work, copy and paste the ftp address below into your browser: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Or,
HP Scan and Capture: You can download and Install HP Scan and Capture app from the Microsoft store. Here is the link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store
For more information on how to use this app, refer: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04675206
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

If this did not help, there is no other scanning software available for this model printer due to its age.
If the printer is out of warranty and if you need to scan, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
