Hi @turbojam

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your HP DeskJet 2621 is scanning but not printing, there could be a few underlying causes to investigate.

Here are some steps you can try:

1. Check Printer Status

  • Ensure your printer has sufficient paper and ink/toner. Low ink levels can sometimes prevent printing.
  • Confirm that the printer is set as your default printer in Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

2. Clear Print Queue

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select See what's printing.
  • If you see any stuck print jobs, cancel them by selecting Cancel All Documents.

3. Run Troubleshooter

  • On Windows 10, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Find the printer troubleshooter and run it—it can help identify and resolve common issues.

4. Reinstall Printer Driver

  • Uninstall your printer driver from the Control Panel > Devices and Printers by right-clicking your printer and selecting Remove device.
  • Then visit the HP Support website to download the latest driver for the DeskJet 2621 compatible with your Windows 10 (32-bit) system.
  • Reinstall the driver and set up the printer again.

5. Check Printer Settings

  • Open your printer software on the computer and ensure the printing mode is not set to "offline" or "paused."
  • Ensure the correct paper size and type are selected.

6. Update Windows

  • Make sure your Windows 10 system is updated by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. Updates can resolve compatibility issues.

7. Use HP Smart App

  • Download the HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store if you don't already have it. This app can help you diagnose and troubleshoot printer issues effectively.

8. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it, and wait for about a minute before plugging it back in and turning it on. Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve problems.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
