For some reason my manager cannot connect to this printer. Our IT people have tried several times and they cannot figure it out. There are others that can connect and print to it, so this makes no sense. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi @CHS24,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If some users can connect and print to the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw while your manager cannot, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Check Network Connectivity:
- Ensure that your manager's device (computer or mobile device) is connected to the same network as the printer. Sometimes, connectivity issues arise if the devices are on different networks or subnets.
Restart Devices:
- Restart both the printer and your manager's device. This can often resolve temporary connectivity issues.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for the printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve connectivity issues and improve printer performance.
Verify Printer Settings:
- Make sure that the printer is set to be discoverable on the network. This setting is usually found in the printer's network settings or through the printer's web interface.
Check Firewall and Security Software:
- Ensure that any firewall or security software on your manager's device is not blocking communication with the printer. Sometimes, security settings can prevent devices from connecting to network printers.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Try reinstalling the printer drivers on your manager's device. Corrupted or outdated drivers can cause connectivity issues. Download the latest drivers from HP's official website and reinstall them.
Check Printer IP Address:
- Verify that the printer has a static IP address assigned or ensure that the DHCP lease for the printer's IP address is not expired. This prevents the printer's IP address from changing unexpectedly.
Consult IT Support:
- Since your IT department has already attempted to troubleshoot the issue, provide them with specific details about your manager's device and any error messages encountered. They may have additional steps or insights based on their network configuration.
By systematically checking these points, you should be able to identify and resolve the connectivity issue your manager is experiencing with the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
