First, something that I know that you've probably had experience with. If a printer is connected to a network I could use a web browser of choice to map into it, http:\\IP.AD.DR.ESS, which I then have a myriad of options to change around: security settings, DNS and WINS, passwords, etc.
Now if I have a printer connected via a USB, how do I change that? Granted I most likely won't need to set up a DNS, but if I need to change the tray profiles, get an serial number, page count, that sort of thing. "Just print a configuration page". Most of the printers we have are around the state, not exactly within reach. A grand portion of those are connected to our domain, which I can log into and get this information or change things, but for those that are connected by USB, just a bit trickier. Hence why I'm asking, I actually had an exact instance like this today where I needed to have it reset and clear the tray settings, I ended up having to walk the guy through it since he happen to be a few hundred miles away. If it were on the domain, log in, done.
So any way to do it with a USB?

Hi,
I'm not sure about this type of Enterprise products, if similar options are available as for consumer products. but generally accessing the EWS page over a USB may be possible with a software interface only.
you may try installing the Full Feature software and check if you may then find the HP Device Toolbox option within its Software, under the "Print" category:
You may also try using HP Smart app and check if you may add the printer there, double-click the top printer icon once the printer was added and check if you may find an Advanced Settings option there, this should allow accessing the EWS interface, if the option would be available for the printer there.
Hope that helps,
Shlomi
