Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So, my printer is under 30 days, so this is my last ditch attempt to get this printer to work before I return it.

It needs to be rebooted before every print or scan job. I just scanned a 4 page assignment and rebooted the printer 3 times. I'll add a page in the HP Smart app, but it will just hang. Backing up, it will say the printer is offline.

However, I walk across to look at the printer wifi settings, sure enough, my IP has not changed.

I rebooted 2 mins ago, already my printer is offline. I tap the wireless button, and it shows my printer's IP and Mac address and displays the wifi name. The wifi router is about 8 feet away from the printer in the same room, and the PC is plugged into the LAN port on the back of the same router. This couldn't be a sleep issue, because it's disconnecting after about 1 min. The display on the printer remains the same, no warnings, nothing.

HP Scan and Diagnose can't find it when it is down.

I eventually resolved this problem by having the printer connect to a D-Link router's wifi instead of the Shaw Bluewave router's wifi, and plugging the PC into that same D-Link. I think that the issue may have to do with Arris gear interacting with HP. At one point print and scan doctor said it fixed a port mis-match, but even that didn't solve the issue.
