I’ve realised why my 2332 hp deskjet printer won’t connect to wireless internet.

BECAUSE IT’S NOT A WIRELESS PRINTER!!!

I must have picked up the wrong box and got a printer requiring cable rather than a wireless printer.

It was very confusing though because the set up instruction sheet that came  with the printer is a generic instruction sheet that gives instructions for setting up wirelessly.

NOTE TO SELF……. IF THERE IS NO INTERNET WIRELESS INDICATOR BUTTON - IT US NOT WIRELESS!

Nowhere in discussion threads does it state that a

2332 hpdeskjet is  not a wireless printer.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are unable to connect your printer to a WiFi connection and the Mac, I am glad to assist you.

This printer model does not have a wireless connectivity option.

You can connect the printer only with the USB cable.

Refer to the printer specification in this link:- Click here

Use the HP Smart app to connect the printer using a USB cable:

Here are the steps:-

Download the HP Smart app, and then follow the instructions to set up a USB connection in macOS.

  • If you already connected the printer USB cable to your computer, disconnect it, and then remove the printer from your computer.
  • Click the Apple icon , click System Preferences, and then click Printers & Scanners, Print and Scan, or Print and Fax. Select the name of your printer, click the Minus sign, and then restart the computer.
  • Make sure an open USB port is available on your computer. Do not connect the printer to a USB hub or docking station as the printer might not receive enough power to operate properly.
  • Go to HP Smart - Mac App Store and install the HP Smart app.
  • Open the app, and then follow the guided installation to complete the setup. If the setup does not begin automatically, click the Plus sign to add your printer.
