My Printer will not stay connected to the internet. I have to press the internet button and sometimes the power button to turn them on to print and then it will lose its connection mid print

@DavidJane, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Wireless Connection Issues for HP Deskjet Printers!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It can be frustrating when your HP Deskjet printer loses its wireless connection frequently. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Wireless Status Light
- Verify the Wireless Status Light: The Wireless Status light indicates the status of the wireless radio. If the light is off, the wireless connection is disabled.
Ensure Proper Connection
- Ensure Printer is Powered On: The wireless radio automatically turns off when the printer is powered off or unplugged from a power source.
- Active Ethernet Network Connection: If your printer is connected to an active Ethernet network with an Ethernet cable, the wireless radio remains active but the printer does not attempt to make a wireless connection. USB connections have no effect on the radio's functionality.
Disable and Enable Wireless Radio
To stabilize your wireless connection, try disabling and then enabling the wireless radio.
Disabling Wireless Radio:
- Verify that the printer is powered on and idle.
- Press and hold down the Report Page button.
- While holding down the Report Page button, press the Cancel button once, and then press the Resume button once.
- Release the Report Page button.
Enabling Wireless Radio:
- Verify that the printer is powered on and idle.
- Press and hold down the Report Page button.
- While holding down the Report Page button, press the Cancel button once.
- Release the Report Page button.
Network Configuration and Signal Strength
- Print HP Report Page: This page supplies useful information about the printer’s wireless, wired, and PictBridge connections. It lists the network status, active connection type, IP address, signal strength, and other details. Print the HP Report page and check the network status and signal strength.
- Check Signal Strength: Ensure the signal strength is between 1-5 (highest). Poor signal strength can cause frequent disconnections.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
