Common problems for Connectivity Issues

Hi  my hp envy 4522 wireless printer. When I give it a command from my phone to print it goes through the motion but spits out a blank page. Call up the wifi on my phone and it says. No internet connection. Power the print off and on same thing. Rebooted the router no change. Wifi works good on my phone. Not sure what to do next.

Here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue where your HP ENVY 4522 printer spits out blank pages when given a print command from your phone:

Check Wireless Connection:

  1. Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.
  2. On the printer's control panel, check the Wi-Fi status. You can usually do this by navigating to the wireless settings or checking the Wi-Fi indicator.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi:

  1. From the printer's control panel, access the wireless setup wizard.
  2. Follow the steps to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
  3. Make sure the Wi-Fi network is functioning and has internet access.

Update Printer Firmware:

  1. Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
  2. Enter your printer model (HP ENVY 4522) and download the latest firmware updates.
  3. Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support

Update Printer Drivers:

  1. Ensure you have the latest drivers installed on your phone and any connected computer. HP Smart app on your phone automatically updates the required drivers for mobile printing.

HP Smart App

  1. Check the HP Smart App:
    1. Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your phone.
    2. Open the app and check for any specific error messages or notifications regarding your printer.

Check Ink Cartridges:

  1. Open the printer and ensure ink cartridges are properly seated and have sufficient ink.
  2. Replace any empty or malfunctioning cartridges.

Print Head Alignment:

  1. On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the maintenance settings.
  2. Run a print head alignment and cleaning cycle.

Print a diagnostic page: 

  1. You can print a self-test page directly from the printer’s control panel to check if the printer itself is working properly.

Try printing another document.

  1. Sometimes the issue might be with the specific document format or file type you are trying to print.
  2. Try printing a different document or photo.

Reset Printer

  1. Factory Reset:
    1. As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on your printer.
    2. Restore factory defaults on your HP printer | HP® Support
