Hi @Pizarro1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Envy 5530 is having trouble connecting to the new Vodafone WiFi due to some kind of filtering, such as MAC address filtering or security settings. Here's how you can troubleshoot and resolve this issue.
Check for MAC Address Filtering
Vodafone routers may have MAC address filtering enabled, which only allows specific devices to connect. Here's how to check:
- Log into your Vodafone router settings by typing its IP address (usually something like 192.168.1.1) in your web browser.
- Enter your admin credentials (these are usually found on the router or in the documentation).
- Look for MAC address filtering settings in the router's security or network settings.
- Find the MAC address of your HP Envy 5530 printer (usually printed on the printer or in the network settings on the printer’s display).
- Add the printer's MAC address to the allowed list if filtering is on.
Update WiFi Security Settings
Ensure your router’s WiFi security settings are compatible with the printer. Here's how:
- Log into the Vodafone router settings as above.
- Check the WiFi security protocol. Most printers work best with WPA/WPA2, so make sure it’s set to that.
- If your router is using WPA3 security, switch to WPA2, as the printer may not support WPA3.
Reset the Network Settings on the Printer
Try resetting your printer’s network settings to allow a fresh connection attempt:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Network Settings.
- Select Restore Network Defaults.
- After resetting, try reconnecting the printer to your Vodafone WiFi using the Wireless Setup Wizard.
Manually Assign an IP Address
If filtering is not the issue, try manually assigning an IP address to your printer:
- Find an available IP address by logging into your router settings and checking for connected devices.
- On your printer, go to Settings > Network Settings > IP Address Configuration and manually assign the IP.
Firmware Update
Ensure that both your router and your printer have the latest firmware updates:
- For the printer, check the HP Support website for any firmware updates.
- For the router, log into the router settings and see if a firmware update is available.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
