Envy 5660 suddenly will not print stating it has been paused. I press resume and it adds to job list but will not print. It copies and it scanned but will not print from laptop or cell

@peepsp4, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I see that you are not able to print from the Mac.
- Which application are you trying to print from?
- Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?
- How is the printer connected? Check the connectivity.
If you are using the HP Smart app to print,
-
Open the HP Smart app. If you do not have HP Smart, download it from HP Smart - Mac App Store, and then follow the prompts to add your printer.
-
Click Printers, and then select Diagnose & Fix.
-
On the Diagnose & Fix screen, click Start.
-
Wait until the analysis completes. Do not close the app to avoid interrupting the process.
-
On the diagnosis screen, review the results, and then click Test Print or Done.
To delete the print jobs stuck in the queue:
-
On your Mac, choose Apple menu
> System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners
.
-
Select the printer you used in the list on the left, then click Open Print Queue.
-
Delete all stuck print jobs.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Also, check for any software updates on Mac
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

I did receive a reply from Kumar that was actually helpful but it did not work. In the process of going through all the steps I came to the conclusion that the problem must be with my MAC OS which is Monterey 12.1 and I do not see that in the drop down boxes for the firmware. I did see a Monterey 12 and selected that but it made no difference.
I am not sure if I should just wait and see if OS Monterey updates will eventually allow me to print again.
Interesting that I can still scan and copy, just not print.
Thank you for your help, Kumar. I apologize for how long it took me to get through all the steps. The Holidays sort of soaked up all my time.

To assist you better, you did not answer these questions:
- Which application are you trying to print from?
- Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?
- How is the printer connected? Check the connectivity.
The firmware update for macOS 21.1 is as same as for macOS 12.
Keep me posted.
