I am using a Macbook Air with the OS Sonoma 14.14.1 and I have tried to connect my HP 2800e printer to the wifi (Starlink) and I keep getting a printer offline message.
I spoke to someone at HP for a good 45 mins. and they concluded that the issue is the Starlink connection.
Having read other posts I see that other Starlink customers have a similar issue-what is the work around?
Just to add: HP support (telephone) helped me set up a wifi connection Direct 7-E.....etc. and I can print when I connect to that wifi, BUT I can't do anything else like check emails, etc.

Hi @Marla_1967,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your printer going offline.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.
Please follow the steps below to fix the issue.
A) Perform a power drain.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.
C) Refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.
D) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to restore factory defaults and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Thank you, Irwin. I don't think the solution that you proposed will resolve this given when I connect to the Direct-7E-HP wifi I can print. I am going to wait until I get my Starlink connection looked at-we are having an engineer come in January to provide us with another router.
I am hoping that will resolve the issue.

Hi @Marla_1967,
Glad to hear that the printer is working fine when connected with the wifi direct feature on the printer.
Please get back to us once you have the engineer check the router configuration.
I will be archiving this case for now. However, you can respond to the same thread to continue the conversation.
