If your HP 6100e WiFi printer is going offline during short periods of inactivity, it could be related to the sleep mode settings or network connectivity issues. Here are a few steps that you can follow:

Sleep Mode:

  • Ensure that your printer isn't going into sleep mode. Generally, a printer in sleep mode can wake up automatically when a print job is sent. However, issues may arise if there are network connectivity problems.

Check Network Connectivity:

  • Ensure your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
  • Make sure there are no obstructions or interference from other electronic devices.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, connectivity issues are resolved with firmware updates. You can find more information and updates on the HP Support website.

Assign a Static IP:

  • Sometimes, assigning a static IP address to the printer can help keep it connected to the network. This setting is usually found in the printer's network configuration area of the control panel or through your router settings.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Utilize the HP Smart App to troubleshoot the connection issues. The app can help diagnose and fix the problem.
