Hi @Stuart107,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To resolve the issue of your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 not connecting to your new TP-Link AE 48 router, especially when it connects fine with your HP Pavilion but not your Dell Inspiron 16 7630, here are some steps to troubleshoot the problem.

Restart Everything

  • Restart the router to ensure it's functioning correctly after the initial setup.
  • Restart the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer.
  • Restart both laptops (Dell and HP) to clear any temporary connection issues.

Check Router Compatibility

  • Make sure the router's Wi-Fi frequency band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) is compatible with your printer. The OfficeJet Pro 8710 typically works best on the 2.4 GHz band, so ensure it's enabled on your router.
    • You can do this by logging into the TP-Link router settings and checking the wireless network settings.

Verify Printer Connection

  • On the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710, navigate to Settings > Network Setup and select Wireless Setup Wizard. Follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to the new TP-Link router's Wi-Fi network.

Check Dell Inspiron Network Settings

  • Ensure that the Dell Inspiron 16 7630 is connected to the same Wi-Fi network (either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) as the printer.
  • Confirm the network driver on your Dell laptop is updated:
    • Go to Device Manager on your Dell, locate Network Adapters, and check for updates.

Reinstall Printer on Dell Laptop

  1. On your Dell laptop, remove the HP printer from Devices and Printers:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select the printer, and remove it.
  2. Reinstall the printer:
    • Go to Add a Printer and let your laptop search for available printers. Select the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 and follow the installation process.

Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings

  • Sometimes, a firewall or antivirus software might block printer connections. Temporarily disable the firewall on your Dell laptop and see if the printer connects. If it does, you'll need to add an exception for the printer in the firewall settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
