HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One Printer

HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-in-One Printer suddenly is frozen. cannot push on\off, must unplug. Touch screen frozen on HP logo with blue line and dots below line. ive tried unplugging, waiting....plugging back in many times no difference. just power button and touch screen lit but not operable. any suggestions why?   i tried several trouble  shooting methods in HP Smart to no success. thanks!

1. Power Cycle (Hard Reset)

You’ve already tried unplugging and waiting, but here’s a more detailed power cycle procedure:

  • Unplug the printer from the power outlet.
  • Press and hold the power button on the printer for at least 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • While still holding the power button, plug the printer back into the wall.
  • Release the power button and try turning it on again.

This method helps reset the printer’s internal power and may clear out any minor glitches.

2. Check for Printer Firmware Issue, Click here

  • Reset to Factory Settings: Some printers allow a reset to factory settings even when stuck. Check the user manual for your specific model to see if this is an option.
  • Alternatively, you could attempt to re-flash the firmware through the HP website using a USB drive or connection via a computer. Check HP’s support site for specific instructions for your printer model.

3. Disconnecting Wireless Connections

  • Turn off your router and modem for 1 minute, and then turn them back on.
  • After resetting your router, try to power the printer back on.
  • This might help if the printer is stuck attempting to connect to a network.

4. Check for Paper Jams or Hardware Issues

  • Look for Paper Jams: A stuck paper or foreign object inside the printer might cause it to freeze.
  • Check for anything obstructing the printer mechanism (e.g., paper trays, print heads, or cartridge areas).
