Hi @afgd1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Envy 5530 printer is not connecting to the internet after Verizon installed a new modem, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- Restart Printer and Modem: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. Turn off both your printer and the modem. Wait for a minute, then turn them back on. Allow the devices to fully restart and establish connections.
- Check Network Settings on Printer: On the control panel of your HP Envy 5530 printer, navigate to the network or wireless settings. Ensure that the printer is connected to the correct wireless network and that the network settings (such as SSID and password) match those of your new Verizon modem.
- Reconfigure Printer Connection: If the printer still does not connect, you may need to reconfigure the wireless connection on the printer. Access the printer's setup menu and select the wireless setup wizard. Follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to your wireless network.
- Update Printer Firmware: Outdated printer firmware can sometimes cause connectivity issues. Check for any available firmware updates for your HP Envy 5530 printer on the HP support website. If updates are available, download and install them according to the provided instructions.
- Check Firewall and Security Settings: Sometimes, firewall or security settings on your computer or network may block the printer from connecting to the internet. Temporarily disable any firewall or security software on your computer and see if the printer can connect.
- Reset Network Settings: As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on your HP Envy 5530 printer to reset all network settings to default. Keep in mind that this will erase any previously configured network settings, and you will need to set up the wireless connection again.
