We recently moved and when I went to use my wireless printer, my HP Envy is not finding my wireless printer, which is on the same network. It worked fine at our previous home, but not connecting at the new house. I have spoken with Spectrum and all is well on that end, and they verified the wireless printer is on the network. I have called Epson and they said as long as the printer is showing a WiFi connection, all should be well. When I check on my computer, it does not recognize the wireless printer and therefore not connecting. Thoughts?

Hi @WendyMO1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy X360 laptop is not recognizing your wireless printer despite both being on the same network, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check Network Connection:
- Ensure both your laptop and the printer are connected to the same wireless network. Sometimes, devices might inadvertently connect to a different network (like a guest network).
Restart Devices:
- Restart both your laptop and the wireless printer. This can resolve temporary network glitches.
Printer Network Settings:
- On your printer, check the wireless settings to ensure it is connected to the correct network. You may need to re-enter the wireless network credentials if they have changed since the move.
Printer IP Address:
- Find out the IP address of your printer through its control panel or settings menu. You can usually print a network configuration page that includes this information. Then, try adding the printer manually to your laptop using the IP address.
Printer Discovery:
- Make sure printer sharing and network discovery are enabled on your laptop. Sometimes, printers can be discovered automatically, but ensuring these settings are on can help.
Firewall and Security Software:
- Check your laptop’s firewall and security software settings to ensure they are not blocking communication with the printer. Temporarily disable them to see if that resolves the issue (remember to re-enable them afterward).
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure your printer drivers on the laptop are up to date. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your specific printer model.
Windows Troubleshooter:
- Use the built-in Windows printer troubleshooter. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, then select your printer and click on "Run the troubleshooter."
Reinstall Printer:
- Remove the printer from your laptop’s list of devices (Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners), then try adding it again by clicking on "Add a printer or scanner."
Reset Printer Settings:
- As a last resort, you can reset the printer’s network settings to factory defaults and set it up again from scratch.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, there might be a deeper compatibility issue or network configuration problem specific to your new home setup.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
