@Porr, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP LaserJet MFP printer is stuck searching for Wi-Fi, with the blue wireless light flashing and then turning off. Let’s walk through some steps to get your printer reconnected.

Power Cycle Devices

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router.
  • After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check Wi-Fi Network

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz (many HP printers do not support 5 GHz).
  • Make sure the network is not hidden and is broadcasting the SSID.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi

Use the Wireless Setup Wizard (if your printer has a display panel):

  • On the printer control panel, go to Network > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

If your printer does not have a display, use the HP Smart App:

  • Download the HP Smart app: HP Smart
  • Open the app and click “Set up a new printer”.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to Wi-Fi.

Reset Network Settings (if needed)

If the printer still can’t find the network:

  • On the printer, go to Settings > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
  • Then try the Wireless Setup Wizard or HP Smart app again.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues:

Additional Tips

  • Keep the printer within 5-8 feet of the router during setup.
  • Avoid placing the printer near microwaves or cordless phones that may interfere with the signal.
