Hi @Caregiver83,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry you're having trouble printing from your iPhone to your HP 5200 printer—it’s frustrating when things stop working after they’ve been fine, especially when you need it to work seamlessly.
- Did this issue start after a recent update on your iPhone or the printer firmware?
- Are both your iPhone and the printer connected to the same Wi-Fi network?
- Have you tried printing from another device to see if the issue is isolated to your iPhone?
Let's try these steps.
Check Network Connection:
- Ensure your printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone.
- On the printer, check the network status by printing a network configuration report (this is typically done via the printer’s control panel under Settings > Network).
Restart Both Devices:
- Restart your iPhone by turning it off and back on.
- Power cycle the printer by turning it off, unplugging it for 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.
Forget and Reconnect the Printer:
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and ensure you are on the correct network.
- Open Settings > Bluetooth, and forget any HP printer if listed there.
- Re-discover the printer by going to the app (e.g., AirPrint or HP Smart) and reconnecting.
Update Firmware and Software:
- Ensure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version (Settings > General > Software Update).
- Update your printer’s firmware via the HP Smart app or the printer’s settings menu.
Reset Printer Settings (if necessary):
- On the printer, navigate to Settings > Restore Network Defaults or a similar option to reset the Wi-Fi setup.
- Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network and test printing from your iPhone again.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, there may be a compatibility issue caused by the latest iOS or printer firmware update.
Keep me posted for further assistance
