My OfficeJet Pro 9015 printer is offline. It does not recognize that the printer is already enrolled in Instant Ink because of the loss of the wireless connection. Without internet, the HP printer is unable to update Instant Ink that the cartridges are already enrolled. As a result, I am stuck in a loop where a reset of the printer only brings the touchscreen panel back to the HP Instant Ink cartridge error. I have tried a hard reset (including plugging the printer into a wall outlet) and the HP Easy Start / HP Smart / HP Print and Scan Doctor functions as well as resetting my internet network entirely through my router. Yet, all my devices are still unable to recognize the printer and my wireless network cannot connect to it, causing Instant Ink unable to update that the cartridges are in fact enrolled.

Hi @moon2allie
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you’re dealing with a frustrating situation with your OfficeJet Pro 9015. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check Network Connection:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is working properly and that other devices can connect to it.
- If possible, restart your router and modem to refresh the connection.
2. Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard. Follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
3. Use WPS (if available):
- If your router supports WPS, you can press the WPS button on the router and then the Wi-Fi button on your printer. This may help establish a connection more easily.
4. Update Printer Firmware:
- If your printer can connect to the internet, check for firmware updates. On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Firmware.
5. Clear Instant Ink Enrollment:
- If you're stuck in the Instant Ink error loop, you may need to clear the enrollment:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Manage Instant Ink and follow the prompts to clear the enrollment.
6. Use HP Smart App:
- Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer. Use the app to try and connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network. The app may help you troubleshoot the connection.
7. Factory Reset the Printer:
- As a last resort, consider performing a factory reset on the printer:
- Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults. Note that this will erase any saved settings, including network configurations.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
