@Penoz, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
I understand you're having trouble connecting your HP OfficeJet Pro 8024e printer to Ethernet even though your Wi-Fi is working fine. I'd be happy to help you get it connected via Ethernet.
Check the Ethernet Cable & Port
- Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the printer's Ethernet port and your router or network switch.
- The Ethernet port is usually located at the back of the printer and has a small LED light that should blink when connected properly.
Restart Devices
- Power off your printer, router, and computer.
- Wait for 30 seconds, then power them back on. This helps refresh the network connection.
Enable Ethernet on the Printer
- On the printer's control panel, go to:
- Settings > Network Setup > Ethernet Settings
- Choose Enable Ethernet or Restore Ethernet Defaults if needed.
Check IP Address
- On the printer, go to:
- Settings > Reports > Network Configuration Page
- Print the report and check if the printer has a valid IP address under the Wired (Ethernet) section.
Install or Update HP Smart App
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Use it to add your printer and verify that it’s connected via Ethernet.
Driver Installation (if needed)
- Visit the HP support page to download the latest drivers and firmware.
If the printer still shows as not connected:
- Try a different Ethernet cable or port on your router.
- Temporarily disable Wi-Fi on the printer to force Ethernet usage.
